“Electrical Fever EP”
out September 3rd
28 Costumes are set to release four brand new, darkly infectious tracks with their much-anticipated EP, “Electrical Fever”, out on Invicta Hi-Fi Records on October 1st. .
For Liverpool based independent record label Invicta Hi-Fi, this opportunity was long overdue. “Finally, Invicta can consummate its long-running love affair with 28 Costumes. Having played host to debut releases by Ladytron and Pop Levi, it is now looking forward to backing yet another winner.” said Jules, founder of Invicta Hi Fi.
This year has seen 28 Costumes’ popularity rocket, with MySpace appointing them a coveted front page ‘Featured Artist’ for July, a prestigious INDY Award Nomination for Best Live Band, two tours of Germany in 4k capacity venues, a storming week of showcases at South by Southwest and a special invite to play the Cois Sharraigh Festival in Ireland, headlined by Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
“Recently loads of things have changed within the band, and that’s made a massive impact on the way we’re working.” said 28 Costumes frontman Chris McIntosh. We now spend all day and all night rehearsing and making new songs, so these four are just a tiny taster of what’s to come.”
“These lyrics are the most candid I’ve ever written, and it can be embarrassing playing the songs in front of the people they are about,” continued McIntosh. “When I first played ‘Electrical Fever’ to my mum, I ended up talking over the lyrics so she didn’t get too offended!”
This E.P. will prove 28 Costumes are in it for the long haul. With a fan base growing faster than newly shaven stubble and a tour schedule that won’t end even when the van breaks down, they still manage to record round the clock for their new album out later this year. It’s a fun time with 28 Costumes. Glad you could join us.
